    You know KFC, right? Kentucky Fried Chicken. Well, sort of. They dropped the “Fried Chicken” part back in ’91. But get this: they’re now moving even further from their roots.

    Big news: KFC is packing its bags. Leaving Kentucky. Its headquarters, anyway. What’s going on?

    The Great Chicken Migration

    Yum! Brands owns KFC. Also Taco Bell, Pizza Hut, and Habit Burger. They just announced a big shake-up.

    KFC’s HQ is leaving Louisville, Kentucky. Heading to. .. Plano, Texas! They’ll share an office with Pizza Hut there. Taco Bell and Habit Burger? They’re staying put in Irvine, California.

    Around 100 KFC corporate folks are moving to Plano ASAP. Like, within six months. Another 90 remote workers? They have a little more time, about 18 months, to get there.

    Why the Change?

    Yum! Brands CEO David Gibbs says it’s all about growth. He thinks bringing people together will boost their “unrivaled culture. ” And give them a competitive edge. Makes sense, right?

    Yum! Brands has been in Louisville since ’97. This is a huge deal. A real turning point.

    Kentucky Still Gets Some Love

    Don’t worry, Kentucky. They’re not forgetting you completely. Yum! Brands is giving $1 million to the University of Louisville’s business school.

    KFC is Still King

    KFC is doing great! They opened almost 3,000 new restaurants last year. All over the world! China, the U. S. , and Europe are their biggest markets. They have 30,000 locations worldwide.

    Their sales are up. Way up! KFC and Taco Bell are killing it.

    KFC is leaving Kentucky. But they’re not going anywhere, really. Just spreading their wings. And their fried chicken.
