Remember that creepy show “Severance” on Apple TV+? The one where workers split their brains to separate work from life?

Turns out, it’s not just science fiction. A new survey says people are seriously craving that kind of escape.

Here’s the deal: People Managing People, a group for HR folks, asked 200 workers if they’d consider the “Severance” procedure.

    The catch? A $100,000 salary.

The result? Almost 70% said they’d think about it.

    Why Would Anyone Want This?

Work-life balance is tough. Really tough.

David Rice, an HR expert, says the survey shows a lot of people want to “disassociate from what they do for a living. ”

Think about it. Constant emails. Never-ending deadlines. The pressure to always be “on. ”

No wonder people dream of a mental off-switch.

    Who’s Most Tempted?

Millennials and Gen X are feeling it the most.

Over a third of those aged 35 to 44 said they’d “definitely” or “probably” go for it.

Why? Maybe it’s the multiple recessions. The constant crises.

    It adds up.

    Gen Z Has a Price

Gen Z is willing, but they want more money.

Almost half said they’d do it for a salary over $500,000.

Only 13% wouldn’t even consider it.

    Is This Dystopian?

    Rice thinks so.

“Being willing to traumatically alter the function of your brain and human experience for money is disturbingly dystopian,” he said.

    It’s a scary thought, isn’t it?
