Worried about robots taking over? Relax. At least, that’s what Meta’s top AI guy thinks. Yann LeCun, Meta’s Chief AI Scientist, says even if AI gets super smart, we’ll still be in charge.

You’re the boss, and AI is your super-powered team. Sounds pretty good, right?

Humans in Control: A Boss-Employee Relationship

LeCun spoke at Nvidia’s big AI conference. He said the future with AI isn’t about machines replacing us. It’s about them working *for* us.

He even joked that he likes working with people smarter than him. Having a team of super-smart AIs? Sounds like a dream team!

    No “Catastrophe Scenario” Here

LeCun doesn’t buy into the scary stories of AI taking over the world. He believes we’ll build AI to do what we want, and only what we want. Like a really, really good assistant.

He’s said it before too. Back in May, he posted on X that super-smart AI will just be a “diligent problem solver serving us. ”

A “Personal AI Team” For Everyone?

The head of OpenAI, Sam Altman, has a similar idea. He thinks one day we’ll all have our own “personal AI team. ” Imagine having AI experts handling everything from your doctor’s appointments to your taxes!

But… Is It Really That Simple?

Of course, super-smart AI comes with risks. OpenAI admits it’ll be tricky to keep an eye on AI that’s way smarter than us. We need to make sure it stays safe and helpful.

Not everyone is as sure as LeCun. The CEO of Anthropic, another big AI company, thinks AI could write all the code for software engineers in just a year! That’s a lot of power.
